About the event

The City Council will be voting proposed changes to the IDO [Integrated Development Ordinance]. These amendments include one proposed by Councilor Pat Davis, and speak specifically to regulations for overnight shelters:

Davis' proposed change to the Integrated Development Ordinance would establish mandates for overnight shelter beds based on underlying zoning. It would set a cap of 30 beds in mixed-use zones, and the highest limit would be 100 overnight shelter beds in manufacturing zones and business parks. The amendment does allow for an increase in shelter beds if services are on-site and a Good Neighbor Agreement is in place.

The IDO currently imposes no bed limits for shelters. The purpose of this amendment is to ensure oversight and impact at our city shelters.

This amendment would help serve every district in the City - this is not just about Gibson Medical Center.

Please note, there is another meeting BEFORE the June 22 meeting.
